How Does HobJoy Work?

HobJoy works to bring you some of the best deals on fantastic products from great brands. We work with companies in 3 ways to offer these deals:

  1. Offer limited-quantity and/or limited-time deals from merchant partners (our Voucher Deals). You take the Voucher Code you purchase from us and use it as a promotion code in that merchant's website (or possibly other ways, based upon the redemption instructions of the Voucher).

  2. We may sell the product directly to you (our Direct Deals).

  3. We also curate exceptional deals (our Curated Deals) from across the internet and link to the retailers and the products directly from HobJoy. We'll provide the link directly to the deal and you'll transact with the retailer. This will require that you leave HobJoy.com and go to their website.

At the end of the day, HobJoy is about helping you do more of what you love to do.

When are new deals offered?

We don't have set times or days that a deal or product can be live on our site. When we find a great deal, we put it live and it stays live until either it sells out or we decide that we need to freshen things up. Our offerings will always be changing, so check back often!

How long do Voucher Deals last?

Voucher deals are limited quantity and may have a limited duration as well. When either the Voucher Deal sells out or we run out of time, we take the Voucher Deal down.

How do I know what deals and offerings are coming up?

We'll do our best to let people on our mailing list know about deals that we know about and that our partners are comfortable with us previewing. Those people may even get early access to the deals. So, the best way to stay informed is by signing-up for our e-mail (we promise not to spam you!). You can do this in your Account.  However, even with this, sometimes we don't know about something or aren't allowed to pre-sell it, so it will just go live on our site without advance warning. Check back often!

How do I know if one of my favorite deals is coming back?

We try to keep a good mix of new and popular deals on our site. We'll do our best to let people on our mailing list know about deals that we know about and that our partners are comfortable with us previewing. Those people may even get early access to the deals. So, the best way to stay informed is by signing-up for our e-mail (we promise not to spam you!).  You can do this in your Account.

A product I want is sold out. Can I still get it?

Unfortunately, when a Voucher Deal is sold out, we have no opportunity to sell more. For Direct Deals, we'll back-order your product and let you know when we expect to get it back in. In the case of Curated Deals, the merchant will be responsible for letting you know how they handle out-of-stock situations.

I can't find a product I saw last week. Where did it go?

That means it sold out or was otherwise removed. We try to keep our offerings new and fresh in order to keep it exciting. Never fear, though, it may come back at some point, especially if it sold out quickly. Feel free to Contact Us to let us know about deals you loved and would like to see returned, or something that you haven't seen on our site, but would like to!

Do you charge sales tax?

It depends. In the case of Voucher Deals, no, we don't charge sales tax. Sales tax is the responsibility of the merchant who you actually purchase the product from (the Merchant who redeems the Voucher). They may charge tax and/or shipping. This should be disclosed in the Deal Terms on the deal.

For Direct Deals, we will charge sales tax on orders in North Carolina, and possibly other states. We have to charge sales tax in states in which we have a presence.

For Curated Deals, sales tax is the responsibility of the Merchant from which you purchase the product.

How long will it take to get my order?

For Voucher Deals and Curated Deals, shipping is handled by the merchant from which you purchased the product. All shipping inquires should be directed to them. For Direct Deals, we aim to ship within 7 days of the order.

I placed an order. Can I cancel it?

For Voucher Deals, you may cancel an order with HobJoy, provided you have not redeemed the voucher with the Merchant. We'll work with the Merchant to make sure that your code has not been redeemed and if so, will void that code and refund your money. If you have already redeemed the Voucher with the merchant, you cannot cancel the deal.

For Direct Deals, you can cancel your order within 24 hours after purchasing it for a full refund. Contact Customer Service to cancel your order. Please keep in mind that some items, like personalized products, may not be able to be canceled.

For Curated Deals, you'll need to work with the Merchant from which you purchased the product.

Where do you get the comparison prices that are listed on your deals?

We use the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) as provided by the merchant who offers the deal. It may be compared to the 'full price' for which they might normally sell the item. However, the strikethrough price may or may not represent the prevailing price for retailers in every area on any particular day.

How do I redeem store credit?

If you have store credit with HobJoy, it will be automatically applied if you're using a credit card. Store credit can be applied using PayPal too. Unfortunately, due to PayPal systems, store credit cannot be applied when using the Checkout with PayPal function. Instead, click the red "proceed to checkout" button in the shopping basket. Then, select PayPal in the Payment Info step at checkout. You can always see your credit balance by checking your Account.
